Z-HOPE (Zetas Helping Other People Excel) is a new initiative designed to
consolidate all of the community service programs and projects under one umbrella.
The objectives of Z-HOPE are to provide culturally appropriate informational activities,
interact collaboratively with other community organizations with similar goals,
expand the Stork’s Nest program, and to provide mentorship to the youth and other
members of the community.
For the past 85+ years, Zeta Phi Beta has been committed to serving the community
in whatever ways possible and Beta Sigma Zeta has made a mark on the Tampa Bay area,
and will continue to help lead positive change in the community. Beta Sigma Zeta has earnestly embraced this new process.
Current Z-HOPE programs include:
- Teen Talk
- Sir Debonair/Sir Lord
- March of Dimes
- Stork's Nest
Stork’s Nest
The Stork’s Nest Program is designed to promote prenatal care as well as healthy
behaviors for expectant mothers and their families using incentives and education.
By participating in prenatal education classes, attending well-baby visits with
their physicians, and attending prenatal care appointments, participants earn points
towards incentives such as maternity or baby care items.
Sir Debonair / Sir Lord Presentation
This special activity is the sorority's fund-raiser for scholarships. This annual
event that spans just for a season is designed to foster positive self-esteem within
young African-American men, provide them with wholesome activities and information
and give them a formal introduction to society.
