Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. was founded on the campus of Howard University on January 16, 1920. As the result of encouragement by Charles Robert Taylor and A. Langston Taylor, members of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., Arizona Cleaver, Pearl Neal, Myrtle Tyler, Viola Tyler, and Fannie Pettie founded an organization of females on the principles of Scholarship, Service, Sisterly Love, and Finer Womanhood.
